Who would benefit from sleeping on a mattress topper?

Mattress toppers are very useful items for providing extra padding to the top of a mattress. For those who sleep on a mattress they find uncomfortable, a mattress topper prove ideal. Those of us of over the age of 50 who bought extra firm mattresses not too long ago, appreciate that the extra layer of "squishiness", does in fact alleviate aching joints in the morning, and feels delightfully luxurious. Single mattress toppers are for retrofitting existing single mattresses to make them feel softer and give the back more support. By adding a touch of luxury to an existing mattress, you can sometimes also prolong its useful life and this is most certainly a cheaper alternative to buying a brand new mattress. However, adding a single mattress topper cannot necessarily save your single mattress should it have already served it useful life, as the lack of underlying support still resides in the mattress and box-springs.

Young people can also benefit from luxurious single mattress toppers. Students preparing for a move to University must remember that student halls are not intended to be the height of luxury, as they draw up their list of essentials required for the move. In fact, they are designed to be pretty basic. The beds in student halls are never the most comfortable, with basic wooden slatted bases and a mattress that’s probably quite old, tired and has certainly seen better days! Sleeping on a hard, unsupportive mattresses such as these can be bad for your back and cause aches and pains. A single mattress topper can quickly make a tired old mattress into something quite luxurious and superbly comfortable. So, investing in a mattress topper is a most cost-effective way to make sure you get a good night’s sleep.

What is the difference between single mattress toppers and single quilted mattress protectors?

Quilted Mattress protectors are much thinner than mattress toppers. Though used to provide a degree of extra comfort, they protect and prolong the life of your mattress and are used primarily for hygienic reasons. Mattress toppers are usually in excess of 3 times the depth of mattress enhancers and used primarily to improve the comfort level of the mattress and offer support for your back. Here are some examples of the quilted mattress protectors we offer:

Memory Foam Mattress Topper

Memory Foam Single Mattress Toppers
Much lighter and easier to transport than an entire mattress, a memory foam mattress topper is an economical way to add the benefits of memory foam to your present sleep surface. Like single memory foam mattresses, single memory foam mattress toppers provide neck and back support and reduce the pressure points while conforming to your body’s natural contours more precisely than other types of mattress toppers. Memory foam supports all weights and types of sleeping positions: back, side or stomach with the same level of cushioning and comfort. The Memory foam mattress toppers from The Fine Bedding Company have a density rating of 55 kilograms / cubic metre, so they will maintain their long-lasting support.
